Hi I'm Tracey

Tracey Port

Cake Artist and creator of The Cake Fairy

My Cake Journey

My earliest memory of baking was sitting on the benchtop in the kitchen in the early 80’s helping my mum make rock cakes from Margaret Fulton’s cookbook.

I loved baking so much, I began making birthday cakes for my friends at school and my family. I studied Home economics in college and baked cakes and slices for delicatessens in my spare time.

My first job was working in the Test Kitchen at Women's Weekly, Woman's Day, Family Circle and Gourmet Magazine, developing recipes for many cookbooks and cooking food for photography and advertising.

After working on several Women's Weekly and Family Circle cake decorating cookbooks, getting married and having a family, it was time to spread my wings and thus, The Cake Fairy was created in 1999 first baking in Willoughby on Sydneys North Shore until 2010 and then moving to our current premises in St Ives.

From Humphrey B Bear to Banana in Pyjama cakes in the early years, Wiggles, Telly Tubbies, Peppa Pig and Paw Patrol I have proudly made delicious cakes using the freshest ingredients.

I have built my business and reputation on word of mouth and rarely advertise. I've created cakes for preschool clients who have returned for me to make their 18th, 21st birthday cakes and wedding cakes. I love seeing my clients faces when they see their cake.

I'm a self confessed perfectionist and take pride in the cakes I produce.

~Made with love~
